We placed a take out order for 6 dishes. The order arrived early and everyone enjoyed the food. The cold sesame noodles were very good, as was the hot and sour soup. We found the prices very reasonable and the ordering experience was great. Highly recommended.

Half the menu exists in the world of "Classic NY Chinese Takeout"; the other half is authentic Szechuan food. This duality makes it an ideal option for a Chinese restaurant: offering options for both nostalgia to the NY Jews in the area and the Chinese customers who fill up the restaurant. In both respects, the restaurant excels. The Classic NY Chinese dishes are executed very well and do not feel weighed down by excess oil usage or MSG. The Szechuan dishes aren't AS good as the best you can get in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, but it's probably the best you can get in NY. Delivery was wicked fast and prices were incredibly reasonable. Hui is a great place to have around the corner.

Some DELICIOUS and underhyped Sichuanese food in UES! Enjoyed every dish we got here, especially the duck, which was super juicy with really crispy skin. Also great for large parties, we came with a party of 8 and it had no wait.

We have fallen in love with Hui Restaurant & Bar on East 70th Street between Second and First Avenues. We had a fabulous dinner, starting with cold noodles with sesame sauce , followed by whole bass steamed with ginger and scallions and ending with warm mochi served with a delicious sauce. The service was exceptional and one of the staff was so gracious and helpful, by deboning the fish and making sure that ( with her assistance) we ate all the fish, made our experience so spectacular that we've been raving about our dinner with all of our friends. We are looking forward to returning very soon!

Very nice choice for Chinese food. Excellent service and large selection of dishes to choose from. Tasteful decor and delicious food. Several seafood specials and some daily specials as well. We enjoyed the house seafood combination in a clay pot. The shrimp steamed dumplings were a highlight. Staff cheerfully alter the level of spice to your wishes.

Everything I've gotten from Hui Restaurant is always delicious! My favorite dishes are the dan dan noodles (although they are pretty spicy), home style tofu, and garlic eggplant. I've tried many dishes and have not been disappointed. The dining space is standard without many frills, and dimly lit. Food tastes great in the restaurant or takeout!

Great neighborhood spot for both authentic Szechuan dishes and classic Chinese-American dishes. My friend and I stopped by on a Wednesday night with no wait for a table but service was on the slower side since there were two large groups in the back. We ordered the spicy cold mung bean noodles (liang fen), mapo tofu, sautéed eggplant, and fish fillets with pickled chilis. My friend has a Chinese-leaning palate and she thought the liang fen and eggplants were too sweet but me and my American palate thought they tasted great! My favorite was the fish fillets - they were lightly crisp with a spicy and tangy flavor.
